Weather & Traffic

This project involved using APIs to scrape data from OpenWeather and TomTom based on specified parameters. I automated the process of transferring the raw JSON data into our PostgreSQL database and meticulously cleaned and formatted the datasets from both sources. Using the merged data, I created API endpoints tailored to address specific queries. While our API endpoints are currently inactive, I provided screenshots that demonstrate the outputs they generated. I also conducted an analysis to explore whether rain affects traffic speeds, utilizing R Studio to create visualizations of our findings. This allowed me to examine the potential impact of weather conditions on traffic patterns with empirical data. Below are some of the visuals from the presentation. This project enhanced my skills in data extraction using APIs, automation, and database management with PostgreSQL. I gained experience in cleaning and merging datasets, creating tailored API endpoints, and analyzing the impact of weather on traffic patterns using R Studio. This work improved my ability to handle real-time data, derive actionable insights, and present findings effectively.
